As previously mentioned, there seem to be quite a number of women-center shows on tv.
You have Desperate Housewives, which is basically a soap opera.
You have Women’s Murder Club, which is sort of a female-centered CSI type of show.
And you have Lipstick Jungle and Cashmere Mafia, which seem to be similar to The Devil Wears Prada with their focus on successful women.
With those shows in mind, are they portraying women in a positive manner? Or in a negative manner?

There are a number of television shows out there right now with a mostly female cast. I do not recall this being the case for some time.
In fact, the last time I can think of there being several popular shows on TV with mostly female casts was back when Golden Girls and Designing Women were the popular primetime shows. In the more recent past the shows that have had a mostly female cast, like She Spies, were not around too long.
The shows that I can think of now that are out are Women’s Murder Club, Desperate Housewives, Lipstick Mafia and Cashmere Jungle. I think that we have Desperate Housewives to thank for this returning trend.

Today I had to run down to Kinko’s to make an incredibly expensive one page fax. (It was $2.49!!!)
I have a Hillary Clinton for President button on my coat collar. A woman behind the counter saw it and excitedly asked where she could get one.
Before I knew it I was having a conversation about Hillary with the people in the local Kinko’s.
They didn’t know about the local rallies, so I was able to tell them about them. It was fun!
Go, Hillary, Go!!!!

I love Madonna. She consistently stays at the top of the charts even though there is a sea of change in the music industry. And her attitude is just awesome. To see what I mean, check out this news story from IMDB below.
Pop superstar Madonna’s highly anticipated new album will be called Hard Candy, her publicist has confirmed. The CD – the follow up to 2005′s Confessions On A Dance Floor – will be released on April 29, and also features a song called “Candy Store” produced by Pharell Williams. Liz Rosenberg, Madonna’s representative, explains the singer chose to stick to the sugary theme because she loves sugary treats. She adds, “It’s about the juxtaposition of tough and sweetness, or as Madonna so eloquently expressed, ‘I’m gonna kick your ass, but it’s going to make you feel good.’” Hard Candy’s release will be preceded by single “4 Minutes To Save The World,” which features Justin Timberlake, at the end of March.

I just can’t stop gushing about my love for Tina Fey.
In all fairness, I liked her before. But now I really love her after seeing that she was pro-Hillary.
One of the funnier things that Tina Fey said on SNL the other night was at the beginning.
She said that women were so liberated now that they did not feel the need to vote for a woman. And in fact, they could vote for whoever Oprah told them too.
That’s funny. And you know what, it is true!!

I love Tina Fey. And now I have a reason to love her even more.
On SNL this past week she returned to the weekend update desk. She used that return to stump for Hillary. And she uttered some of the best phrases. Most notably “Bitch is the new Black.” Check out the clip below.

Did you watch last night’s debate.
I suspect it is the last time we will see Hillary and Obama debating.
I watched it and thought that they were ganging up on Hillary. Apparently she thought so too considering her comment about always getting asked first.
And today apparently there is a lot of talk about the debate. A lot of people are saying that it was sexist.
It seems that the media is afraid to come down hard on Obama because of being called racist. Yet they have no problem coming down hard on the woman.

As previously mentioned, there is going to be an historic rally here in Ohio. The “Ohio Women Make History!†Rally in Akron, Ohio will have a number of notable women at it.
The list of attendees includes the following so far:
* Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright
* Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones (D-OH)
* Congresswoman Nydia Velázquez (D-NY)
* Congresswoman Allyson Schwartz (D-PA)
* Former Maryland Lt. Gov. Kathleen Kennedy Townsend
* EMILY’s List President Ellen Malcolm
* Hillary Clinton for President Senior Advisor Ann Lewis
And I can only hope that we get some other people there too. Like maybe Ellen DeGeneres via video like at a recent rally for Hillary.
You know, there are more women than men. That means that women could really be the deciding factor in the primary on March 4th.

So, the young people seem to be behind Obama.
I read something the other day about how race seems like a bigger thing than gender. By that, I mean that they think it is more monumental for a black person to be running for office than a female.
Why is this?
It must be because they are under the impression that women have more rights than black people.
The truth is that they are just young and naive. They do see how little rights women have. They don’t recognize that most of the things that they do day in and day out are a direct result of the fact that as young women that they have less rights.
