As previously mentioned, there are four mainstream shows out now that are women centered. The shows are: Desperate Housewives, Cashmere Mafia, Lipstick Jungle and Women’s Murder Club.

All of these shows have a main cast that is made up of women.

You might be inclined to say that this is a good thing. But let us think for a moment about the number of television shows that are on the major networks during primetime viewing. And out of all of those only four have a group of women as the main characters.

Not exactly the “we’ve come a long way baby” you thought it was, right?
