Alterna Eyewear
You know, as some one that love to get things for free, I am all over this new website for Alterna Eyewear where you can go to the site to get the sweet hookup for some free sunglasses. And that is not all that you can get for free at Alterna Eyewear. In fact, they also have free watches. Now, here is how it all works. If you go to their website and you have the little promo code for the free sunglasses and you end up order four pairs of the free sunglasses then you also get a totally free chrono watch. And get this - all you have to pay is the shipping cost! How cool is that. And Alterna Eyewear is THE place to get your Viper and Vanquish sunglasses. So be sure to check them out today to get your free sunglass hookup!

Alterna Eyewear is a total scam and ripoff!
Let’s pretend you order one of their most expensive pair of glasses and also order one of their least expensive pair. They say both pair are free yet the shipping charge for one is $19 vs $6 for the cheaper pair. How is that possible when both are shipped in the same box?
Whatever you order, they ship from Bend, Oregon and they come to you via UPS. Now if you go to UPS.com, you can calculate what it should actually cost you which is indeed far less. Shipping should always be based on the quantity of your order and its destination and never on the value of the item. The only time you should ever have to pay extra for that would be to insure the item from damages.
The fact is that they are charging you for the glasses and the quality is no greater than that which you can find in a local retail discount outlet.
Save your money and shop wisely elsewhere.

I bought a few pairs of these Alterna glasses knowing full wear that the “free” aspect was just a marketing gimmick given the outrageous S&H charges. But I go through a lot of glasses as I tend to lose them, misplace them, scratch them, sit on them, etc, so I thought I’d try a few pairs.
Big mistake. Most cheap sunglasses I buy at least are comfortable and last awhile. These were crap. The were very uncomfortable and the materials were thin, cheap and brittle. I would have been better off buying a few cheap pairs at the local sporting goods store.
Buyer beware. Alterna sucks. Do not buy from them!

I bought the four “free” sunglasses to get the free watch. Some of the glasses were OK, some crap. The watch is OK, but definitly cheap. (The black on the bezel has rubbed off to reveal gray plasic underneath.)
The BIG RIPOFF is that they automatically enroll you into some deal where they send you “free” sunglasses each quarter and charge your credit card $20 each time. You have to call to get “unenrolled”.
My recommendation: Stay away from this outfit.
