Looks like Hillary won’t be Obama’s VP

August 1st, 2008 admin

When Hillary Clinton did not get the nomination, I was crushed. But I was still holding out hope. I was hoping that Obama would want to secure the Clinton backers votes by picking Hillary as his running mate. I think a lot of people were hoping for that. But clearly that is not going to happen. Seems he has already offered her a speaking time during the convention in Denver on the 4th night, which is not the night that the running mate speaks. I wonder who he will pick now. I can’t say I care that much anymore.

Planned Parenthood Endorses Barack Obama

July 8th, 2008 admin

Well, this is certainly interesting. I just read that Planned Parenthood has endorsed Barack Obama. If course, their options are a bit limited. I think that neither of them are really good options. And I honestly do not know who would be better in protecting women’s right to choose. I know – Hillary! Too bad she is out :(

Hillary & Obama together?

June 30th, 2008 admin

As a strong Hillary supporter, I am not at all happy with Obama as my option in November. I was holding out hope for Hillary to run 3rd party. Then she endorsed Obama. And now on Friday she appeared with him on the campaign trail. What a letdown. The less qualified male won, yet again. Amazing that I was expecting anything different for an outcome.

Dear DNC: You Suck!

June 25th, 2008 admin

A while back, before Obama got the required number of delegates, I had sent an email to the DNC. I wanted to voice my opinion on why I did not think Obama could get elected and how I had too much to lose if Hillary was not the nominee.

Apparently, the DNC takes the fact that you are sending them an email as an open opportunity to sign you up for their email newsletter. I did not agree to be on their email spam list. I just wanted to give them my two cents.

Today I got another email from the DNC so I looked for the ‘unsubscribe’ link. I clicked on it and was taken to a page to confirm it and to leave a comment as to why I was unsubscribing. Having not learned a lesson about what happens when you give the DNC your two cents, I left a comment. I told them how I was a life-long Democrat and that I did not approve of the way the Democratic party had treated Hillary Clinton and that I did not trust Obama enough to vote for him. I then told them that I would be voting for McCain in the general election. And then I hit them with the zinger that I am in Ohio. Muah hahahaha. Of course, it will likely fall on deaf ears.

Then I got annoyed because unsubscribing was not that easy.  I had to wait for a confirmation code to be emailed to me and then I had to put that in the website. DNC – you suck!

Will I vote for McCain? It depends on what happens between now and then. If McCain gets in office, I know what he will do. If Obama gets in office, I have no idea what he will do – and that scares me.

I’m hoping for some kind of 11th hour resurrection of Hillary Clinton.

Michelle Obama on Laura Bush

June 18th, 2008 admin

How is this for odd, politically speaking that is?

Michelle Obama praises Laura Bush. That was the headline I saw. Apparently Michelle was saying she was grateful that first lady Laura Bush came to her defense. This happened after she was harshly criticized by Republicans for her February comment that for the first time in her adult life she was proud of the United States.

Interesting, yes?

Where’s Hillary?

June 16th, 2008 admin

I read something interesting. People are wondering where Hillary Clinton is. She has made no appearances since that speech. So, she endorsed Obama and that was it. Now she is no where to be seen. So I have to wonder – what is she up to?

I am still holding out hope that she runs 3rd party.

The dreaded concession

June 5th, 2008 admin

I had hoped it would not happen this way. I mean, what kind of message does it send?

Hillary is set to concede to Obama on Saturday.

To me it sends a pretty bad message. Sexism wins again. It does not matter if the woman is more qualified – the man will win. Gender is the only qualification that matters.

And so on…

A depressing loss for women everywhere

June 4th, 2008 admin

Last night Hillary Clinton won the primary in South Dakota. However, that was not enough. She won the popular vote. However, that too was not enough. She did not meet the magical delegate number needed to be named the democratic nominee. Last night, sexism won out again. It is a sad time for women everywhere. Here is hoping that she sees how the democratic party turned their backs on her. And maybe she will run third party this election. Just maybe.

She won South Dakota!

June 4th, 2008 admin

Well, yesterday were the final two primaries. And Hillary managed to win South Dakota. Yay for that. And she lost in Montana, but not by a lot. Not like he did in Puerto Rico. And she still remains the leader in the popular vote. But not in the delegate number game.

Hillary scores another win

June 1st, 2008 admin

How exciting for my girl Hillary. Yes, in case you missed it it happened again. Hillary bested Obama in the Puerto Rico primary. The last time I had it on CNN it was about a 70-30 split in her favor. And that is pretty sweet. Too bad she is still behind in delegates. Of course, she is ahead in the popular vote. Here is hoping that counts for something in the end!
